Stage 3 focuses on the multi-disciplines of theatre performance.  Students will develop their acting, singing and dance skills through regular classes and will rehearse for a main production in a local venue at the end of the summer term. 

Taught by highly skilled theatre professionals, sessions will comprise of formal training in character development using the techniques of such practitioners as Stanislavski, Dario Fo, Brecht and Augusto Boal along with devising, improvisation and scripted work. Students will experience a diverse range of materials such as Shakespeare, contemporary plays and Musical Theatre. Training in spoken and sung voice will include breath control, laryngeal understanding, Alexander technique, muscle control and accent work. Students will take part in choral singing which will include harmony work.  They will experience a variety of styles including pop and musical theatre and will develop the technique of acting through song. Students will have opportunities to learn physical technique for acting as well as ballet, jazz, street and contemporary dance.  


Along with rehearsing for the main show in July, students will prepare for a full drama school showcase in December, both at local professional venues.


Students will learn self-motivation and self-discipline whilst developing their communication skills, confidence and an understanding of team work.  At this stage students are expected to demonstrate the professional discipline required in the theatre environment.
